Life gives you lemons

Happy Halloween Tattoo
After a series of events that better remain unmentioned..I thought I lost it all.  But on the real, what I almost really ended up losing was my mind. Look, I'm not going to pretend that I believe that everything happens for a reason. I've made up my mind with all that shenanigans. Shiz goes down. Some stuff you can spend years trying to wrap your head around and still find no meaning behind it.You gotta stop that. Stop looking for reasons and start creating one. It's how you deal with life's lemons that squeezes some substance out.
With family, friends, family that have become friends, and friends that have become family I learned there's little to nothing I can't get over. This song sounds a little louder after considering all this (:

Such a rush It overflows

That one single sound jumps at me with no warning or remorse. I'm left tingling. Let me first say, I love all music. I try and give every genre a chance (therefore my ipod is as diverse as the Jolie-Pitt family) When I started listening to "Tiki tiki" music, I didn't get it. Yeah a couple tracks here and there were cool, but this House Phenom just didn't make sense to me. But if you want to go dancing where I'm from (especially with my bestfriend), you're left with no option but to blister up your feet from bouncing around to the strong beats. Oh and do I love to dance. Eventually, every song would remind me of "that one time when" and an insta smile would be slapped across my face when I'd singe along to papapapabumbumttikitkihaha.

Then this bestfriend of mine introduced me to Avicii. Then Avicii mixed up this summers theme song, and I was hooked. Now I'm going to see Avicii tomorrow. Now I'm pretty much going karakata because every memory of Pacha, Privilege, Shoko, MYA, Las Anima, etc is going to be relived.
So cheers to new memories while celebrating the old

YADIRF

I love looking back on what made me happy through the week.
 It's like a bonus #6 reason to smile :)

LandisGreen BookSale
You know those 1970's campus protest photos?
I kinda pretend I'm in one every time FSU is filled with activities and crowds

SUNSHINE
Windows down weather?
Nothing feels more organic than smiling simply,
because it's a beautiful day

TourTrip
Whether it was a scam or not..
I loved the little field trip the girls and I made to
 Urban Outfitters CollegeTour Tent.
Damage was done.
(I also fell in love with 3 pairs of Tortoise&Blonde eyeglasses..
is it Christmas yet?)

BOO
Perhaps trying on costumes in full make up and
having a solo photoshoot is a little much.
(I may or may not have participated in this)
But sharing screams with friends made me even more excited for Halloday!
Thank goodness the artists who carved these pumpkins are on the ADteam (:

pLAY
Big smiles when it comes to pLAY.
Not only did I get to help out my roomz with her Cakeball masterpiece..
(Stay tuned to her post on Polish&Pistachios)

Home my Heart

I'm lost! I know I know... you're dying to hear from me...(Let me live in a fantasy, please) Well since on Friday I couldn't tell you what 5 things kept me smiling, I don't want you all to think I wasn't. In fact..I was happier than ever this weekend. I was home :)

Check out this nugget. I finally got to meet my cousins from Spain! I was pretty bummed to miss my bebe Alejandro (He left back home the day before I arrived...but my heart is now split up into 3. Ale, Marco, and Migue why aren't boys my age more like you?
Speaking of boyfriends, I'm going to go ahead and agree with Carrie Bradshaw on this one.
"If you can only have one great love, then Miami just may be mine. And I don't want nobody talkin' shit about my boyfriend."
Our skyline may not reach the stars like NYC, but it lifts me up any time I drive by (blurry visioned or not)

Even I, the creature who can least keep still (therefore getting my nails done makes me nervous) can't deny a mani/pedi when going home. I am (finally) Woman (again).

One of my happiest moments this weekend was seeing my Primas (by that I do mean cousins and ballerinas!) After an amazing performance of Giselle (new favorite) we headed over to Sugarcane where I couldn't  drink my Strawberry Balsamic quick enough (i.e. empty glass)

Lastly, the reason I'll be smiling for a while... BOOTS ARE BACK! My Christmas Closet is nice and cozy (literally... extremely snug and I don't think I even grabbed everything).

Looking back at all this, It's still clear I didn't get enough done...
Guess a second visit this month is in store (:

Word

Darlings, my week has been a little more hectic than most. This Tuesday the only place I can consider traveling to is the lovely Library...
I always find myself loosing track of time in there, which reminds me of this quote. A thought to turn into action

Lunes Tunes

Spanish music moves more than just your hips. Every word sung is full of passion.  If you don't understand the words, you can still feel every emotion in the melody.  You can't avoid the romance. You can't avoid comfort. You basically just can't avoid being captivated!
Oh, but I've tried.
You see, It's been hard to listen to the music that fit as a soundtrack to the most incredible summer I've run out of adjectives to describe.  And It's hard to listen to what I grew up with at home, while I'm  hundreds of miles away from my family, friends, and city you know?
Yeah... I sound me-lo-dramatic... Sue me.
I probably need therapy.
But obviously the only therapy a college student can afford is music therapy.
Go figure.
So as hard as I've tried to boycott, I just can't!!  Why? Juanes, sings it best...
"Porque sin ti mi vida yo no soy feliz"
(hehe told you I was being me-lo dramatic today!)

Volverte A Ver -Juanes
P.S. For me, this song is more about a place than a person..What's it mean to you?

Coming to a blank...

A blank canvas is most exciting and intimidating. Anything can happen; leaving room for utter excellence or failure. You don't hang it in closet, it's out for the world to see.  When I bought a shy 8x10 yesterday, I walked out of the store with a stranger. I'm definitely no artist. My attempt class at "Sketch Through The City" this summer was a check off my bucket list, but also a check into reality. I loves me my doodles, but I'm well aware it ain't my forté. Words on the other hand, I can work with. Well, I use them all the time don't I? (Those of you familiar with my vernacular.. don't answer that)  Let's not kid ourselves thou, I'm simple, not eloquent. But when I hear a lyric or  quote, it sometimes validates as a passport  to some pretty exotic places and thoughts.
See the pressure? I want to look at my canvas and scadoo somewhere (case and point)
Regardless, no rush. I'm taking this little project as a sort of scavenger hunt. Be gentle with the random word vom you might find on here from now on. It's my way of testing the waters. Here's what dove into me today...

"Our intentions create our reality"
Hm.

Five

If you were to jump into my head this week...oh but what a scary little place you'd enter. (It's always a scary place, but particularly this week). Combine lack of sleep and exams and if you don't go mad then please tell me your secret!!! Fortunately, there's been a light at the end of the tunnel.  Today, I realize it wasn't "the light"  which I've heard to avoid following, but actually,  just the little things throughout these past days that kept it all shining.
P.S. If you haven't noticed, you will now. I'm having a lurve affair with the weather

Blue skies and breezes remind me to take it easy and enjoy my morning drives and last minute reviews

This week I finally found my new hiding spot! Don't know what it's called, so I dubbed it Walden (I'm clearly no Thoreau, but a tiny transcendentalist has been living inside me since sophomore year) Can't wait to get back there this weekend + the endless DIY's I've been scheming. mwahaha

"Dreams don't work, unless you do"
This.
Some words that have kept me motivated and inspired, despite the madness.

Happy Friggen Friday ya'll

Gone to Gainesville

p.s go noles
Taking a trip to the swamp doesn't seem so enjoyable. This past weekend, thou, I visited the creatures of Gainesville. I couldn't believe how adorable the 'Ville was!
Yes, you can definitely tell it's a college town, but somehow you can still manage to separate yourself from the red solo cups and multicolored bar bands (The orange and blue, however, never escapes).
It's been a while since we all got to play together, take a walk without sweating, and sit cuddled by a bonfire roasting (or attempting to) marshmallows.. but I promise it won't be a while
before I'm back my little gators!

LightLunes

Everyone's got that certain track they can't avoid playing on a roadtrip. I always have my go-to songs and ipod ready to share on long drives
The weather this weekend seemed to agree with the music. Easy, comforting, and simply makes you smile :) You can't help but stick your hand out the window and move it along to the beat! Bottom line... regardless of the bumps on the road, this song just reminds you
Everything is alright.
(P.S. I dare you not to sing along)
