Live by

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." - Emerson

Zome yumZ

I was an odd little child. (If you wouldn't of guessed, you probably haven't been reading!) When I was younger,  I was pretty much the only kid who begged to watch Julia Child instead of catdog (I still stand by that being the most obnoxious show in tv history). Being in the kitchen instead of the playground made a BIg impact in my life. (ha. pun intended) It was the basis for the relationship I had with my grandparents. Mima and I would spend hours upon hours whipping up delectable dishes, and Pipo and I would spend merely seconds scarfing them down. I love them. I love food. and I love that thinking of my childhood brings both together. Although I don't think I knew what zucchini was until college (embarrassing),  making this dish and sharing it with my roommate brought back that loven' in the oven vibe.
Zoo key knee
*In other words, Zucchini Casserole.. but I really don't like the word Casserole
What you'll need:
2 Zucchini's - Salt/Pepper  - Bacon - Green Pepper -
Onion - 1 egg - 1 tbsp of milk - Cheese
-Preheat Oven to 375°F.   - Coat your baking dish with
nonstick cooking spray - Slice Zookeyknee's
Drop Z slices in the pot of boiling water
While that bubbles, cook the peppers, onions and bacon.
Set out and cover the Z's for 15 minutes while they simmer
Whisk up that egg and milk then drop the Pep.On.Bac. mix + some cheese
After 15, Drain the Z's

Place the Z's on the baking dish then season  with salt and pepper.
(P.S I added some breadcrumbs to the bottom because my roommate is a genius)
Pour mix over Z's
Place and bake for 35 minutes!

El Salto de Los Novios

Clearly, yesterday I ran out of chill pills. So I was recommended the next best thing. I got my bubblebath ready and miraculously fell into some kind of deep sleep while the water ran (A little dangerous, I know). In those dreams,
I traveled back in time to Navajas, Spain
It's a tiny town outside Valencia that while on the metro, you might miss if you blink.  After an exhausting couple of weeks of running around the world, the girls and I decided we needed a Popa's get-a-way (a vacation from vacation sort of thang). After a failed attempt, we returned to the train station the next day with a picnic (which never made it off the metro I might add) and an eagerness to discover something hidden.
And that we did. I bet Hansel and Gretel had a better sense of direction, thou. We were dropped off in the middle of what seemed like a movie set. The streets were empty, but beautiful.
While on the search for the waterfalls (The reason we made the trip), A little treasure caught our attention. This tiny spanish woman was sitting on a bench (First form of life). And like out of a movie, she began to tell us the story of two lovers. A spanish Romeo and Juliet. All the love and all the drama. Julieta (changed name for -well because I don't remember the real one) leaped from the tallest waterfall (this is why it's called "El Salto de Los Novios") to prove her love.
Since then, lovers still make the jump.
We were in awe. We were intrigued. We had to find this fountain where a lost life was a better risk than a lost love.  Our hike had to move quickly (There was only one train back home!) but we still  managed to discover enough streams, trails, and caves to create some pretty great memories. And then BAM. We turned a corner and understood the big deal. We understood why this fragile old woman still travels to Navajas with the little friends she  has left. We understood. We stripped into our unmentionables and I, too, got to make the jump with my greatest loves.

Music n 'Migas

One of those days. When it rains, oh it pours. Doesn’t matter what’s going wrong, thou. The things that make it right deserve more of the focus today anyways.
I get by with a little help from my friends :)

Jessi is a friend...

Jessi is a good friend of mine.. So for her 21st birthday, a celebration beyond compare was our only option! Jessi's Girls dressed in their freshest 80's gear to shake up the town. (The fascination we have with this era, nothing can beat it... except maybe Michael Jackson)
I took the persona of my favorite Material Girl and believe me, we got into the groove. I can't help but laugh when piecing the puzzle of last night... Thankfully we have plenty more 21st to come and try to remember
(8 months till mine.. oooooo [almost] half way there ;)

Terça-feira Viagem

The bookshelves that stand across from me, hold oodles of trinkets my roommates and I hold dear. There are plenty of pretty things to look at in the morning while I sit on the carpet straightening out my thoughts for the day. But there's one special treasure up there that knocks me all over the place. Detouring from any possibility that our globe might remind us of Academia, I think it's safe to say only memories and wishes are traveling through our thoughts when we take it for a spin.
Until I can take my mind off wandering around the world (which I never will), Tuesday's will be dedicated to past and future travels.

O Porto, Potugal

"laughter has no foreign accent"

No need to go into detail of what I found beautiful in Portugal (Isn't it obvious?) For some reason, stepping into this postcard brought out some colors my friends and I never knew we had. Little creatures were set free. We were bare (some foot- some skin). We jumped on rocks and slid down sand.. the beach was our playground. We spoke to boys who made us blush despite the language barrier. We tribal danced with borrowed soccer balls and bamboo sticks. We found the real slim shady. We sang 'till one of us almost burst. We turned merely a few moments into these odd little stories you'll never understand unless you visit Portugal for yourself.

Muzik Monz

I adore Alliterationzz (and the letter Z). Plus or minus when it comes to advertising, but it was definitely A + when I thought about what to post this fine Monday morn. Naturally I had a song in mind..
Alexander. Oh, how i love thee. First off, I did check you out because I have a certain pull towards the name Alexander... but once my cousin and I took a listen, your voice became part of the soundtrack to my indie life movie (which is one of the many film genres I pretend I live in by the way). AnywayzZzZz Here's some Truth to getcha by this week homies.

Bonus: Last nights Emmy award show was by far one of the most entertaining (Sue, I lurve yue). I also semi-enjoyed the Dior 90sec mini movie. I totally enjoyed the track thou!

OU Wish

There're very few things out there that I'd compare to Disney. This weekend, Florida State University's fans brought some of that unbelievable magic to the streets of Tally. Waking up on game day has been said to feel like "Christmas morning".  Never did I understand that until FSU VS. OKLAHOMA.  Things I'll never forget (or remember) sum up what this weekend was about. Although the Noles didn't take the win (silence filled that stadium when OU scored the last TD), they do take the cake for unreal unity and spirit. GO NOLES

Interesting thought. Tomorrow's game day. I'll pretend I'm mentally/physically preparing. (When in fact we all know I'm old and senile and just want to catch up on movies and dreaming)
Good dreams Sweet night

Pleased to meet ya

There's butterflies inside me as I write this first post!! You see, every morning I begin the day with a bold white mug of goodness and a stroll through the lives of several blogs. I, an easy-inspired femme, have tried countless times to venture into this virtual lifestyle diary, to perhaps become one of these glittery personalities I read so happily to start my day. It's a stretch to say I'm here to inspire you (how pompous would that sound), but I am, oh-so-desperately, trying to make you smile :) So stay a while stay forever stay gold!
